The last Email January 22, 2024

Image
Hello Everyone,  Alright let's do this one last time. I can't believe that this is my last email as Elder Robertson. The time goes by far to quickly. I pray that I can write down all the thoughts and feelings on my heart. After writing that I realize that would be a very long email. And by the time I were to finish that email I would no longer have battery left in my phone. So I will write down what seemeth me good.   This week has gone by, and can't remember it all. Something that I will never forget is meeting Elder Soares. It was an amazing experience hearing from him in person. This also meant a lot to me because Elder Soares spoke to us while I was in the MTC back home. I am grateful for his message about Joy and how we can always choose to be happy. I have learned a great deal about Joy and it has changed my attitude about life. I love seeing that the Apostles are real people. They  have laughter and  they make jokes, they care about ...

Hello Everyone,  I love y'all and am so grateful for everything y'all have done for me. I'm especially grateful that y'all have read these crazy emails. Sometimes I didn't even know how they were going to end up. I love y'all so much.  I feel that I am getting to the point where I don't know what to write. I feel that y'all already know how my week I'd before I even write about it. I have been truly blessed and love the Lord.   That having been said I'm still writing this weekly.  I'll start by talking about something that hasn't happened before in my life. We were teaching a less active family, and the lessons was going great until we had an unexpected distraction. This was in a trailer home and the entire house was heated by fire heater. (I don't know exactly what it was called. It was like a fire place, but it was metal and wasn't in the wall. ) Don't ask me why but the fire heater just started smoking. Smoke soon filled ...

Hello Everyone,  Before I forget, I have something to say/write. Just like I always do. I am very grateful for the blessing of this time in my life. One of those blessings is the news that the first area I served in will be become a ward on Sunday. I am grateful for all the Missionaries that helped the Branch get to this point. I am more grateful for the members who live in that wonderful area. They have changed my life and I love the faith and dedication they have. I am most grateful towards God who has brought this blessing. Thanks to the Ellijay Branch, soon to be the Ellijay Ward!  With this news, and just how I have been feeling, I have done a lot of reflecting this past week. No I have not been more focused on going home. But I have been seeing all the wonderful experiences that I have received. All the growth I have done. Sometimes it is hard to see the growth, only because it all goes by so fast. I feel as though I have always been this way, but then I look...

Hello Everyone, And happy New Year!  Can I believe that it is 2024? Don't ask me that question because I don't want to talk about it. I am excited for this new year, and the new opportunity that will come in 2024.  It feels as though I just wrote this email, and that is because I just did on Wednesday. Last week went by for so many reasons. With the speed of this past week I have a hard time remembering what happened. We did have District Council, but that is nothing new. I love the wonderful insight I can learn from other missionaries as they deepen their own discipleship.  On the same day of District Council we went on Exchanges. It was a great time as we stopped by people in our areabook. It was wonderful being able to stop by to see people and find that the people we were looking for were not home. But some times someone else was home. So being the missionaries we are we talked to them, and a lot of them were friendly. Some even said that we could com...

Hello Everyone & Merry Christmas!   Before y'all say anything, no I am not breaking mission rules right now by righting this email. Monday was not our preparation day. Now you might still be thinking I'm breaking rule because it isn't Tuesday as I am writing this. While it just happens to be the week of Zone Conference, so that it what we did yesterday instead of a preparation day.  Now that y'all know I am trying to be obedient, please allow me to y'all about my week. (There is a lot to write about, and still not a whole lot of time)  Christmas! I still can't believe that Christmas is past, yet it feels like I have been celebrating for several days. With the day being a "regular" mission work day, we were very busy. We text just about everyone we were teach and more, wishing them all a merry Christmas. Then we had lunch with our district at a members house which was amazing. From that point to the end of the night we were running from appointmen...

Elder Taylor have you met Santa ? December 18, 2023

Hello Everyone,  And yes it is late and yes I am determined to finish this email before my P-day is over.  This was a great week but I can only remember the last few days, so that is what y'all are going to get. If you want to hear about the other half of the week I'll need a couple more hours in my day. Until then I will continue on with the show.   Yes I know what I said above but some how I ran out of time. I guess no one added more hours into my day. How unfortunate.  Transfer news! Sadly I lost both of my Companions. One went to Peru, and the other to the other side of the zone. Joining me for this transfer will be Elder Taylor. He is fresh off the airplane all the way from North Pole Alaska. Yes that is right I got an elf companion for Christmas. He claims to have met Santa. He is awesome and I love that I have this opportunity to get to know him.   As we knew that Elder Christensen was leaving we went to say goodbye to Tammy. In doin...
