The Fall of Winter

Image
Dear everyone,   I think I have said this every email, but I'm going to say it again. It is crazy of how much time goes by so quickly. I'm pretty sure that Georgia lives in another world were time goes at a faster rate.  This week was awesome for many reasons. One of the reasons is because we did a lot of service this week. The week before I said that I hadn't done any service, so now God has given me no room to say that again. On Wednesday we helped our dear friend Rebecca move, and that took most of the day. It has been a while since I helped someone move. The last people I help move was my parents. Brought back some good memories. After that, we headed to the church to help a sister clean it. We did that for a couple more hours, and then we headed over to dinner with a member and his wife. And what was awesome was that this member had come with us that morning to teach our friend. Then he came with us to help Rebecca move, and then we finished the day with havin...

A month away from home

Hello Everyone,  Once more time has gone by faster than I thought. I can't believe that a month ago I hopped on a plane to head to Salt Lake City to begin my MTC experience. Now I'm no longer in the the MTC but it still feels like it was yesterday. This whole experience has just begun and I'm enjoying a lot of it.  This week was a blast. On Tuesday I went on Exchanges ( which means I got to go spend the day with a different missionary who is not my companion) and this experience was full of fun running around and spiritual moments. We started that day by trying to stop by to see a person who we had set up a lesson with. Unfortunately they never answered the door and we hadn't gotten her contact information. So we just started going around the neighborhood knocking on doors. We did find someone else who was interested, so we said that we would be back at a time that works better with them. After we went around the neighborhood we went to go help move a safe for a member...

Another week in Georgia Valentines edition

Hey everyone,  I can't believe that this time is going by so quickly. It still feels like yesterday I was leaving the MTC, but that was two weeks ago. We have been running around a lot this past week. Something that I'm quickly figuring out is that dogs are so friendly here; mostly. Most of the time dogs will come out running just to say HI, and get some scratches. Most dogs in Ellijay just run around with no fence and no leash. I've seen more wild dogs than I have ever seen, and they are all so cute. The other day we were driving and we saw a whole family of dogs with little puppies. I love them all. We spend time driving because most people live far away from others which means I get to enjoy the beauty that Georgia has to offer. Also I completely forgot to talk about my trainer. His name is Elder Riddle and the craziest thing is that when we first met we found out that we are both from Colorado!!! And not just in the same state, we are only about 30 minutes away from t...

Dear everyone,  This week has been so much, and I mean that in a good way. There has been so much learning, and moving and being busy. But most of all it's been so much joy and spiritual rewarding. It hasn't been perfect but I'm working on making it that way. This week has gone by so fast. It felt like it was yesterday when I was flying in looking down and think of how green everything was. Except for the grass it was most certainly yellow. I could barely see the ground because everything is covered in trees. I haven't quite felt the humidity and I think that's because it's "winter". It does get cold but it's still so much warmer than what I'm used to. I had no idea how many trees were up here. When you are on the highway you can only see trees. And apparently there are bamboo trees up here. Some of the other Elders are making cups out of the bamboo.  My first area is a town named Ellijay . The area is very north and covers a lot of area. I...

January 28, 2022 Last week in the MTC

Hello Everyone,  Sorry if you get this a second time something weird so hopefully all goes well. It feels so weird that 3 DAYS AWAY from serving in Georgia. It feels like yesterday that I was logging into zoom for the first time. I'm so excited to be going out to serve the children of the Lord. I can't wait even though the MTC will make me wait.  Sitting down with people that have questions about life is exciting and rewarding. I never thought I would be telling people about life when I'm younger than them. But that is because my life has been blessed since the day I was born, and since that day I have had the privilege to learn and grow and I owe that all to you. Everyone has had an impact on my life for the better. Now because of all the blessings that I have received I can go be blessing in others lives, and show them how Jesus Christ is the way and that he loves each and every one of us.  There has been a lot that has happened this week concerning my district. I...

This week has been full of excitement and worry. I was very worried about taking a flight all alone. I felt myself praying a lot more about this one moment that was going to happen than I usually do about anything. I sought many ways of comfort. From my parents, from the scriptures , and from General conference talks . And I remember as I prayed I received my answer to my prayers. And I knew that I was going to OK. This comfort helped me pushed through the times that I was worried and the times I was going make a mistake. But I felt his love as he push me to go a little further. To go and do. I love the MTC . That simple fact cannot be stated enough, but I can say why. Everywhere you go the spirit is there and it teach you different things in different place at different times. And each missionary here goes through that every day and it's amazing! Every time I hear someone else's testimony I feel mine become stronger. I have also noticed that when I act upon what the spirit i...

WOW! I know that I haven't been in the MTC for a full week but I'm amazed with everything that has happened this week. I started out being nervous and anxious at the same time, but I learned to listen to the spirit and let my fears be taken from me. I love my district and even though we haven't met in person yet, I feel a connection that doesn't make sense. As one of my fellow Elders put it, "It is impossible for a group of strangers to feel this much love for each other in only two day. It is only through the Savior that it is possible." He said something along those lines, and I agree. I thank my Savior once more because of all that He has done for me. Even though I haven't met My Companion in person, I was glad to have the chance to get to know Elder Jensen first. And from what I have learned is that we are going to get along very well. I can't wait to arrive in Provo to see my district and to shake my companion's hand, and to have that famou...
