Dear everyone,
This week has been so much, and I mean that in a good way. There has been so much learning, and moving and being busy. But most of all it's been so much joy and spiritual rewarding. It hasn't been perfect but I'm working on making it that way.
This week has gone by so fast. It felt like it was yesterday when I was flying in looking down and think of how green everything was. Except for the grass it was most certainly yellow. I could barely see the ground because everything is covered in trees. I haven't quite felt the humidity and I think that's because it's "winter". It does get cold but it's still so much warmer than what I'm used to. I had no idea how many trees were up here. When you are on the highway you can only see trees. And apparently there are bamboo trees up here. Some of the other Elders are making cups out of the bamboo.
My first area is a town named Ellijay. The area is very north and covers a lot of area. I'm so glad that they have a car for us because I think we could only make it to one home a day. Even with a car we spend a lot of time driving. It is beautiful up in Ellijay early I said that the grass was yellow, but in Ellijay most of it are green. The members of the Branch a very kind, and most of them have a southern accent, they even have a southern slang which I didn't know that was a thing.
My favorite part of my mission is the beautiful area. It's teaching people. I know I don't known it all, but trying to help others understand what I've known my entire life fills me with joy. We haven't had too many lessons but when we do it is the best of times. I feel so much closer to Jesus Christ and I feel my Savior's love for me and for my Brothers and Sisters. This week has been a lot of running around, or driving around, but I'm the middle of it all with my companion and we put an activity for the youth together, where we taught and we also taught Sunday school. Both were awesome and I enjoyed teaching. I'm looking to improve and ask more questions so they can become more involved in the lesson. It is different than it was while I was in the MTC but when I get to teach it feels like the world slows down and there is peace in the air like there was at the MTC, and in my home. Sunday was awesome. We got to help this sweet lady come to church who was interested, but has had a hard time getting out in her wheelchair. So we were able to help her and she bore her testimony in church and was so sweet and cool to see that even someone who is not apart of the church can be touch by the people there and come closer to Christ. Unfortunately I won't be able to see her a lot because she is moving to New York soon. And I'm still thinking that I'm back in Colorado and that New York on the other side of the country.
I feel that I always have a lot to say, and I'm learning to speak up and say it. I'm grateful for all those who have spoken up and said something that has touched me even if they didn't know. I want to touch people in the way that others and most importantly how the my Savior Jesus Christ has touched me.
I know that He lives and that He has put me where I need to be. I don't know why and I don't need to because I know that when I follow Him I will do what He has sent me here to do. Even if I can't see it. I know of Jesus's love for me and I know He loves you. I know that He loves the people of Georgia, and everywhere else in this magnificent world of His. I say these things in His name Jesus Christ amen.
This is some of the beautiful views that we get to see.
Also we found a music park which brought back some good memories
Also that is my companion Elder Riddle
