On The Weekly Again August 14, 2023
My Name is Elder Robertson from the Georgia Atlanta North Mission, and you're reading my email!
At least I hope you're reading my email. Yes I know I just sent one out on Thursday, and that it hasn't been a full week yet. I don't make the rules here I just write on P-day, and it just happens to be P-day again.
This week, or rather these past few days have been good. After P-day our friend Maggie took us to Longhorn. As I said in my last email it was good. We shared a message with her while we were there, and then we met with her again yesterday to have lunch and message. She has great faith and trust in the Lord.
District Council was good. The District mainly stayed the same. Part of me feels that transfers didn't happen. After C
DC we went to Buc-ees for lunch. Yes we went to a gas station to lunch.
We had an amazing lesson with our friend Mandy. We have been trying to meet with her since we got here. We have been so close to meeting with her on many occasions, but life would always get in our way and leave us disappointed. However we were able to meet with her, and she just opened up to us about the trails in her life and how she came to know Jesus Christ. She is amazing! She had her Copy of the Book of Mormon that past missionaries had given her and she had it Book marked at Alma 24! She loves reading the Book of Mormon and meeting with the Missionaries. She was asking us about a timeline for the Book of Mormon because she is a visual learner. Her mind was blown when we showed her the Book of Mormon Videos. She is an amazing soul and I look forward to teaching her more.
I don't have much more to say about these past few days. Except how great sacrament meeting was. Past speakers were giving talks based out of Preach My Gospel! It was great to hear what they have learned through their studies. While hearing their talks I knew what section of PMG they were talking about. It was a great time.
We had another lesson with Amy, it was great talking about temples and feeling the spirit strongly. I am very excited for this week. Many blessing will happen this week. The greatest is that Amy will be baptized this Saturday! Please keep her in your prayers they have helped her make it this far.
I have been invited by President Judd to share some teachings with the Mission this Wednesday. Because I have have been preparing for this topic, it is what's on my mind right now. He asked me to talk about how Reverence impacts Revelation.
Reverence is something that my parents have taught me to do while in church. The older I get the more I learn of the importance of being reverent. Reverence is more than quietly sitting, it is to tune in our hearts and minds to the Spirit. Us being reverent is us showing our respect and love for God. As we do this we become ready to receive revelation. We show God that we will listen and cherish what he has to teach us. Reverence invites Revelation. I know that to be true as I have been reverent in Holy places and Holy times. I have been taught and have testimony of the truthfulness of this work. This came to me as I was reverent. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
Love All Y'all! Have another great week!
