Long time no Read August 10, 2023
Hello Everyone,
Long time no see, and still there is no seeing of me but at least you can read of me.
Feels like there has been a lot that has happened since I wrote one of these. Hope I can remember everything that I wanted to tell y'all about.
Before I forget let me tell you about Maggie and Wilmer (The friends in the picture of my last weekly). Wilmer is a returning member and Maggie is his wife, and that is all that you need to know, but because I know y'all want to know more I will write more. We have been trying to meet with them ever since we got here. They have been very busy and we haven't been able to talk to them, until they came to the Ward BBQ a couple weeks ago. We played Volleyball with them and later met with them and shared a message. Maggie speaks English, and Wilmer can barley speak English, but that doesn't stop us from loving them. I'm grateful for their faith and their desire to grow that faith. They are going to take us out to dinner tonight and it will be great.
Also we got transfer news, and as expected we are both staying. Can't believe it's already been a transfer, I think they go by faster after each one.
We have met with Amy many times to finish teaching her the lessons because her baptism is coming up. Please keep praying for her, we have seen miracles as we have met with her. She has been read a lot in the Book of Mormon and as been very dedicated to learn what it teaches. To give you perspective she read the Isaiah chapters four times trying to understand it. (About 2 Nephi 12-27) She is braver than I. After the forth time she continued to read and is now reading in Mosiah. She also took us to Cracker Barrel for dinner, and it was great.
As for our lovely friend Diane, we had the chance to teach her about Patriarchal blessings. She loved learning about it and how she could get her own. At the end of the lesson she bore her testimony to us about how she loves to learn in this church. She loves that there is some much knowledge to learn and apply in our lives. I love hearing the testimonies of recent Converts because they are strong.
We have been able to find some great people in our time here and I hope we can meet with them again. I love how Elder Nehorai is so driven to find people to teach. He is always seeking to find someone who can hear the message of the Restoration. I love it.
Yesterday we felt impressed to stop by a member that hasn't been to church because of health problems. A member of the Relief Society told us that this member could use a visit. We stopped by this farm (which I did not expect her home to be a farm) and this member was so happy to see us. She told us how she loves the Missionaries and told us about her conversion. We talked and talked and talked and it was great. I am grateful that we could go and listen, because she really needed it. We opened up the Book of Mormon and start to read some Prophecies of Christ. It was wonderful to read and talk about it with her. She knew what she had to do to receive more comfort in her life. She has been working towards it for a long time and wants to start reading the Book of Mormon again.
I have just finished reading the Book of Mormon from the beginning to the end for the second time on my mission. I can't wait to begin again. I love what I have learned from studying it, I love what I have been able to teach from it, I love who it testifies of. I love My Savior, and that is because of what I have learned of Him in the scriptures. Life becomes clearer as I study the words of ancient Prophets, and modern Prophets. I know that life will become clearer for you too. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
