Faith, Hope, Charity and BBQ July 31, 2023
Hello Everybody,
I hope y'all have had a great week. We certainly did. I hope to be able to tell y'all about it.
One of the biggest miracles I saw this week was with our friend Amy. We taught her at the beginning of the week and we had a great lesson about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I felt that it was something that she needed, and I know that it helped. When we met with her at the end of the week she told us how she has been thinking a lot about the things that we have taught her. She told us that that she has been very happy this week. Happier than she has been in a long time. I was so filled with joy to her that she was happier.
We taught her some of the Plan of Salvation and she told us that it was perfect timing for her. It was a wonderful lesson filled with the Spirit, which was needed because we taught her the Word of Wisdom. At the end of the lesson she gave us a trash bag with her coffee, tea, and vape. I'm glad that she has been striving to keep the commandments and that she is willing to make big steps in her life to prepare for Baptism.
We spent a lot of time in the car this week, but that didn't stop us from having a lot of lessons and finding new people to teach.
We had Exchanges with the other Elders in our district. I was with Elder Ritchie and the man is built like Mr. Incredible. On top of that he is very friendly and a hard worker.
We had 5 week follow up, but it was more like 6 week follow up, anyways. It meant we had to Drive to Suwanee. It has been a while since I have been there but it felt like home. I loved learning about how I can improve as a trainer and as a missionary.
We also had a ward BBQ this week and it was great. The food, amazing. The Members, amazing. The friends, amazing. The volleyball, amazing. Yes we played volleyball ball in our white shirts and ties, and yes is was very hot. But it was a lot of fun and we played with some of our friends and returning youth.
Well I guess that was my week, hope that y'all was greater than the last week.
I have loved to learn more about Faith, Hope, and Charity. There seems to be more about these principles every time I study them. I have seen how much applies to them. Something that I learned was how the Covenant of Baptism is connected to Faith, Hope, and Charity. I have been able to learn more about these principles because of The Book of Mormon. I know it is the Word of God and that those who will read it with real intent will be happier. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
