Good patterns April 24, 2023

 Hello Everyone!

This week was great, with it's ups and downs, as usual.

We have been teaching our friend Michelle, and from the time I started to meet Michelle and now, I have noticed a change in her. She has become happier and remembers what she has learned from missionaries. When I asked if she new who the Prophet was, she said, "Russell M. Nelson, Duh!" We had a great laugh and I love that she knows that truth. She is and amazing person and doing so much so that she can be ready to be Baptized.

Another highlight was FHE, (Bible study) because thirteen people came to it. Thirteen is the most people I had ever seen at a Bible study. It was amazing to see people having fun and participating in the lesson. The Spirit was there and just brightened up my day. It's true that when we help others and forget about ourselves we become happier.

Many times we taught people by simply reading some scriptures or reading talks from the Prophet. I love teaching this way for many reasons, and one is so because others get read it and then we can explain and answer their questions. It also allows me to learn as well because I get to read the same things so many times, and learning something new every time.

After we read President Nelson talk, "Peacemakers needed", a family we are teaching they gave us some hotdogs! I am amazed by people's kindness. Southern hospitality is real!

I was amazed last week as our friends came to church, but this week I was blown away when more of our friends came to church this week! I was happy and the happiness kept on going. The Sabbath Day is a day of blessing and that is true!

Some of my favorite things as a missionary is how much of the Gospel I learn through my personal study and meetings. And then to go out and focus on others in helping them know the Gospel and spending time with them. These are patterns in my life that I don't want to change. Good patterns and habits are amazing because we can keep improving and elevating! This is partly why these emails may sound repetitive, and that's not a bad thing. They may get boring and I might not know what to say, but that's because I am experiencing so much good and improving on the previous week. I love trying to be better even if I fall sometimes because I have My Savior to help me stand tall again.

I know that Jesus Christ is My Savior, not just The Savior. He is My personal Savior because He knows personally knows everything I am going through. Because he is My personal Savior I can strive to be better. I know that even when it looks like hope is gone, that it is not because He is the Light of the world and in my life. I love Him and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
