Faith, Hope, Charity May 22, 2023
Hello Everyone,
And it came to pass that the week Elder Robertson had was good. Many people were taught the Gospel. There was much more rain, thunder and even more rain.
I feel in this past week I have learned a lot. And this time I actually have time to tell you about it. Let's start off where I left off. After I had sent the email last week we had a lesson with Shayla and Christain. We taught about some of the commandments including the Word of Wisdom. I was unsure how Christain was going to take it, but I knew that Shayla would understand clearly and live it. To my amazement Christain didn't have as much of a problem with it. He too understood what was being taught and said we was going to live it. This past week we have seen them make changes in their lives to help them. They are noticing the changes and how much better they feel when they keep God's commandments.
After that we headed over to a missionary meeting. If your can't tell already, Monday was a long busy day. I learned to testify more of Jesus Christ when teaching. Doing so allowed me to realize that everything we teach is about Christ. As we were leaving I was talking to a member of the Stake Presidency. We taught about having more purposeful studies of the scriptures by noticing patterns and asking questions. One question that he asked caused me to ponder and study Moroni 7 through out the whole week, of why Faith, Hope and Charity as always mentioned together and why in that order. I still don't have all the answers but I am studying and learning so much, so I encourage you to do the same.
That study helped me prepare for my talk on Sunday. It was great.
Through out to beginning of the week we were talking to just about everyone that we saw. It was a great time and definitely kept us busy. We met a lot of great people and hope to see them again.
We had the wonderful opportunity to be of service to a member in the ward. We helped her make a flower bed around a tree stump and then we came back the next day to plant some flowers. It was fun, and the light rain didn't ruin our fun.
As mentioned earlier in the email I gave a talk this past Sunday. I loved being able to prepare and learn for talks. The entire week I was praying that I could say what others needed to hear, and that I would be able to improve from the last talk that I gave. God answers prayers! For most of my talk I was looking up rather than just reading my talk. I felt confident in what I was teaching and testifying about the Gospel of Christ. I covered a lot in my talk but the high lights were, Faith, Discipleship, Peacemaking, Charity, and Unity. Afterwards I was told by a member that what the other speaker and myself talked about was exactly what she needed to hear as the summer time starts.
It is crazy to me that summer time is about to start and that school is about to end. It causes me to think where I was a year ago, where I was two years, and how I graduated three years ago! There is so much that I have learned since then. My time on the mission, the time I spent at working at Chick-fil-A, all of it has helped me become more of who I want to be in life even if I don't know what to do with my life. I grateful for everyone who has helped me get to this point. I am also grateful for each and every single one of you guys!
I know that this world would be better if everyone would listen and follow the Savior's teachings to love each other as He has loved us. Charity is the Pure love of Jesus Christ, as we are filled with this love we grow closer to each other and the Savior. We overcome our differences and become the family that He wants us to be. Christ's ultimate sign of His love is His Atonement. His sacrifice that changes everything and changes everyone. That is His Pure Love, to help us. I know He helps everyone because He has helped me. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
