Elephant, Book of Mormon, Freedom May 29, 2023

 Hello Everybody! 

This was a crazy week, and I know that I won't be able to tell you all about the craziness. So if you finish reading this, and feel that it is not crazy. Then you are going to have to trust me. 

Our week started off with Zone Conferences, and this was one of my favorite. The big elephant in the room was the fact that this was President and Sister Harris's last Zone Conference. President Harris addressed the Elephant and told him to leave. So we continue to learn and have fun. We learned about the Book of Mormon at Zone Conference. I loved it so much and learning about the great and marvelous work of God. As we learned, I saw the hand of the God blessing and bringing forth this wonderful Gift. Something that stood out to was how reality of how much we have because the Book of Mormon is true. Everything that I know and love today is because the Book of Mormon is the word of God along with the Holy Bible. 

To had to the Craziness, my companion and myself weren't feeling that great because of allergies. Thankfully we were given the strength and the health to still be able to do the Lord's work. I'm so grateful because I felt so much better as we went out and talked to people. If someone wants to find joy, then need to keep that commandments and do the will of the Lord. Doing so has brought me joy.  

We were able to find quite of people to teach, and they were miracles from God. One was a referral from some other missionaries. So we called this person and set up a time to meet with him. While on the phone he asked us if our church does Baptisms because he hasn't been baptized before. We told him that we help people prepare for Baptisms and it was great to hear him understand that this is a journey. We were able to meet with him the next day. It was a blessing because the lesson went very well. Elder Winters and myself were teaching in unity and helping each other. The spirit was there and felt. We asked him as he comes to know these things to be true if he would be baptized. He said yes! The miracles didn't stop there. He came to church and loved it!  

My favorite part of the week was teaching Shayla and Christian. On Monday we watched the movie Joseph Smith The Prophet of the Restoration. We did so in a members home and they were touched by the spirit. We continue to see and teach them through out the week, and I'm glad with how well they are doing. Shayla has learned and grown so much. She would constantly use the phrase, "Our Church..." she has such a great testimony of the Restoration. She knows so much and already sees The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as her church. They are amazing. 

This past week I have loved learning about the Book of Mormon. One thing that I have learned is how much this land is called a choice land. This is what the Lord has taught to those that are worthy to live in this land. As I have read The Book of Mormon, and I reflect on This day I realize how many live have been given for the Freedom in this land. In ancient days, and in the days of America. I am grateful for those who have fought so that we can have Freedom. I know the Lord loves them and blesses them. 

I know the Book of Mormon is true! I know that anyone who reads and lives by the teachings they read will grow closer to God. Who doesn't want to grow nearer to God? I have come closer to my Heavenly Father because of the teachings of my parents from the Book of Mormon. Now I am learning to do so on my own. I always want to grow closer to God, so I am always going to read and apply the Book of Mormon. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
