A new start in Monroe February 20 2023
Hello Everyone!
Well it has been a crazy, fun, and great week. With it being the first week of the Transfer that means that everything is a blur and it will take me a while to remember what actually happened.
Let's start at the beginning.....
I am now in Monroe, which is another boonies area. I live in a loft apartment in the middle of downtown. It is a blessing for many reasons, one is that every time we leave the apartment we are hit with the smell of fresh Tacos. That's because there is a Mexican restaurant right next to our apartment, which also happens to be where we park our car. Now then I could talk about the town and the apartment forever, but that's not why y'all are here, so I'll move on.
My very first night here was youth night, so I got to met a lot of youth and I don't remember any of their names. Aren't I off to a great start? We played a game of them that was very similar to the last youth game I was apart of except this felt more like running around until to get caught. While we were there we talked to a lot of the adults, explaining why there was now a redhead missionary in their ward. While we were doing that I got assigned to give a talk on Sunday! I'm glad they got me early so I could prepare and it was a great way for myself to introduce myself to the ward.
I am grateful that I was able to meet the members that I was talking about in my last email. (I knew them from an old area of mine) I have been able to catch up with them and come to find out that they are the ward missionaries. They are doing a great job in their callings, and I'm glad I get to serve with them. They host a FHE night in their home every week where we go over the Come Follow Me together. That is a blessing because normally I don't have time to study that as a missionary since we study for the people we teach.
I can already tell how missionary minded this ward is and I'm loving it!
Before I forget (because I always do), my new Companion is Elder Kartchner, and we have been getting along very well. Fun times and laughs are ahead as we serve and teach together.
Here is where the blurriness comes in.
We woke up one morning, and then we did something, and then I think we ate. Before I knew it we were knocking on doors with one of the members who is preparing to go on a mission. (Now it's coming back to me) We were having a great time talking with each other and the people that we met, when we came across Michael. As we greeted him he told us to wait as he went to grab his Bible. We and my Companion (Elder Kartchner), and I knew what that meant. A new challenger appears to bash. So we got bashed about how we weren't saved by Jesus. That was fun, and we said goodbye to Michael and wished him a great day as we walked away. We laughed and cried about the experience later, but our souls were filled with Gratitude as we knew that Jesus Christ had come to save all those that will believe on His name and Repent.
I know that Jesus Christ loves everyone and came to save us all. He has already save us from death because of His sacrifice in preforming the Atonement. This knowledge with my heart eith peace and love as I know that everyone had the opportunity to return to a loving Heavenly Father, and experience a fullness of Joy. To this purpose was He Born that everyone might have everlasting life. I know this because I have studied and taught. I have felt and I have experienced this truth through every fiber of my soul. I know that Jesus Christ is OUR SAVIOR! I say these things in the name a Jesus Christ Amen.
