"I don't worry about anything anymore" February 2, 2023
Hello Everyone and happy groundhogs day!
Yes I know that was on Thursday but I'm doing the best I can. I couldn't even celebrate it watching the Bill Murray movie. But it's okay because I am a missionary and we all make sacrifices to be here.
This week was a good week with a lot of not so great news.
An update on Ray: He got got out of the ER at the beginning of the week but by the end he was again in the hospital. Please keep praying for him and Donnetta. We briefly meet with them this week and it was great to hear how their lives have changed. Donnetta is seeing things in a new light and she is loving it. Hopefully Ray will see the changes and the blessing when his health improves. It has been wonderful experience seeing the members reaching out in love and taking care of them because they love them. Ray and Donnetta are apart of the Grayson Ward family.
We also went by Dean and Marsha and had a wonderful time reviewing the Baptismal questions apart of the new member lessons. I loved hearing how he doesn't believe that God is real, he KNOWS GOD IS REAL! Hearing all that he believes was great and I'm so glad that he and Marsha are feeling better. They are back to coming to church and they are so happy that they are back. While we had a lesson with them we had some members there helping Dean to Read. Dean has never read before in his life, but after that lesson he started to read some words! It was great, and now we are going to teach someone who is more than twice my age, how to read!
This week we had more time on our hands to do finding activities. Which meant we were able to find more people to teach. It had been awhile since we have found as many people as we did this week. Hopefully we will be able teach them more in the future.
Apart of our finding activities this week, was having a youth drive us around and be apart of our lessons. One of them was with a part member family. Meeting with them was a miracle because the mom never answers her phone, but when we called she did! Asked if we could come by the same day and she said yes! When we got there the mom apparently wasn't there, but some of her family was including a ten year son who hasn't been baptized. We asked if he wanted to be and he said that he does! We had a short lesson since the mom wasn't there and set up another time to meet when the mom would be there. The youth that was there bore a powerful testimony of the Book of Mormon, and even taught it the same way a missionary would. He is so ready for his mission when the time comes.
We went back to teach this family and everyone was there and we asked if the mom wanted her son to be baptized and she said Yes! After teaching them we were about to set a baptismal date, but then the Mom gets up and goes to the bathroom. We wouldn't put the 10 year on date without his mom. So we kept teaching and rambling on about how we feel joy, while we waited for the mom came back. Unfortunately we ran out of time and had to leave before the Mom came back. No worries though cause we are going to find a way to come back and help this son of God be baptized!
We spent more time with the young men this week, as mentioned above. We also went to their activity were they played a game called "Man Hunt". And because my comp and I didn't know the rules we assumed it was like hid and seek, and because it we were playing it outside, we had to be creative. So we hid underneath out car for about 10-15min before we thought that maybe we were playing the wrong. Fun time! I also ran into some tree branches, but we don't talk about that.
This week has had it's ups and downs, and every single up that I felt was because of God. I have felt the peace that come through the comforted during this hard week. Because of the Holy Ghost I don't have to let any worries stay. I don't have to worry about anything anymore, it's all in His hands. I have felt to most Joy I have ever felt, and that is because I have taught and testified of what I know is true! I know God lives, I know Jesus loves me, I know the Holy is a still comforting voice, I know the Book of Mormon and the Bible are gifts from God to improve our lives! I have see these truths in my life and the lives of my family, and all those that I love are My Family. From my dig Groot to my best friends. I saw these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen!
Zone Conference that happened a while ago.
Note from Mom- Our family dog, Groot passed away on February 1. We were able to speak with Connor that night to let him know. Thank you for your concern.
