I am Grateful for November 🍁 November 7, 2022
Hello Everyone!
This week was another hard week, but there was still good to be found. There is always good to be found in the Lord's service.
I'll start off with the hard, since I fished with the hard moments in my last email. If you haven't read it yet, I invite you to do so. The hardest part about this week was the fact that I wasn't not feeling well. I was feeling great in anyway. I had lost my voice and couldn't speak, and that was really frustrating. I am here to talk and teach and to shout from the rooftops, but for a while I couldn't. Despite feeling overwhelmed and feeling down in the pit, I still saw the hand of the Lord in my life. While I was feeling that I way, I felt a greater need and love for the Scriptures and Prayer.
One of the ways that I was blessed was when I started to loose my voice. I prayed that I would have strength to say what needed to be said. God blessed me that day by giving me strength to speak. On that day we had a lesson with one of our friends who we have been trying to meet with for a while. We were able to get one of her member friends there and had a great lesson. The Spirit was there and I am grateful that I could feel His presence. That day was able to speak, but the next day my voice was practically gone.
My favorite morning this past week involved service. It feels great to get up and serve someone else early in the morning. We got up and went and helped with a food drive. The line was long, but I am used to long lines. I got to bag potatoes and talk to some wonderful people.
When we were done helping out, we headed back to shower and get ready. When suddenly we got a call from a member in the ward. He asked for some service. We quickly turned the car around ( we did so safely) and headed to the members house. Apparently they had an issue with some plumbing, and asked for our help to dig a hole to find the issue. We gladly helped out, and it took a while to us to find the pipe. And when we did find it we realized that we needed to make the hole bigger because our hole was a little bit off. After a Chick-fil-A lunch break we got back to work. Once more time passed we found the problem and that it was something that we couldn't fix. We found our the later in the week that the problem was so much worse than we thought, but now all is well. That was a long day, but it felt great.
We finally were able to meet with our friend who is on date to be Baptized. She has been busy, and it has been difficult meeting with he. We hope to teach her a lesson, but we ended up dealing with a lot of drama that I don't want to get into, but by the end we were on the same page, and we know that she still wants wants to to be Baptized!
We also got to meet with another one of our friends, who we haven't met before because of who busy he has been. We were able to have a lesson that went good, and we also had a member there. They connected well and it was wonderful to see the members fellowship and give powerful testimony and experience about the restoration. After the lesson we invited our friend and his wife to join us at church, and they came! That was amazing and it was great to see them interact with the members.
Well I guess that was my week summarized into a email. I am feeling better and now I can talk again! This week is going to be good and I pray that I can do what God would have me do.
I know that in the moments when we can't talk to others, we can talk to God. My heart was constantly pointed toward God and seek His love. I have found His love. You can find it as you search the scriptures as I have. I feel myself growing in my studies and love of The Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon was given as a gift from God. How could we not use this gift? We should use this Gift from God in all aspects of our lives. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
