He has come with Gifts 🎁 🎅
Hello, and Merry Christmas!
Yes I know that Christmas is not today or this week, but you are going see me write it in every email this week.
This week was a good one and I'll try to it justice, and please give me mercy when I mess up :)
The morning of Tuesday had begun, and we started off doing service at the local library. Once again we bagged a lot of food, but this time I was on apples. And I'll have to say I did bag a lot of Apples, and once more it felt like I was back at the Chick-fil-A drive through.
Something that I feel I have been doing better this week is reporting in area Book. There are times that I don't want to to do it, but when I'm done reporting I feel a lot better and I had fun when I did. Let that be a life lesson to you from me.
Also I apologize for skipping Monday, so I'll go back and talk about Monday. And no I will not edit it and put Monday before Tuesday.
Monday was a good P-day! We got together as a Zone and we had a missionary Olympics! It was a lot of fun with a lot of games, and a not so fun relay race. I am proud to day that my team come in third, though it's not a competition and that is because we didn't get anything for getting third. After that we talked about how we can Attack the Morning. I have got to say my days have been a lot better I feel more ready to go. There is a quote somewhere by Elder Holland that says something along the lines of, "Show me how a Missionary's morning is and I will show you how their day will be, how their mission will go and how their life will be." I don't have the exact quote but it is something like that.
Now then Wednesday! We had an awesome lesson with someone that other missionaries sent us. We met with her and taught her the Restoration. The Spirit was strong and a comfort to myself and the person that was there. She was grateful for us giving her the Book of Mormon, and something that I have been doing lately is teaching people about how the Book of Mormon is a gift from God, and it is! Tis the season for us to remember and be grateful for the Gifts God has already given us. The greatest of all gifts being Jesus Christ. For He was Born of a humble birth to save us all. Like the Wise men of old seek Him diligently and you will be filled with Joy!
We had exchanges this week, which means I once again left my area. I had a good time, and we taught someone that the Elder had found earlier that week. The spirit was once again there as we taught the restoration and she was almost asking for The Book of Mormon before we gave it to her. By the end she was so happy and excited to meet again, and then one of the Elders I was with felt prompted to teach about baptism and asked if she would be Baptized. And she said yes! It was a great night, and right before we went to bed we got a call from my Two Comps and DL. They had asked two of our friends to be Baptized, and they too said yes! I was so happy and I knew that it would happen soon. A little sad I wasn't there, but I'm so happy for them and I am grateful that they followed spiritual prompting!
Yes I know that this is starting to get long, but I one or two more experiences to share, so hang in there.
The next day when we exchanged back we headed to the church, because we were going to do a Church tour with one of our friends. Thus friend of ours is someone that we have been trying to meet for a long time but anytime we have a lesson scheduled something comes up. This time we actually got to meet him and he is Great! We had a good church tour, and at the end of it he asked if we had any literature. So we started to teach him about the Book of Mormon. We read and testified of it's truthfulness, and yes I told him it was a gift from God. And what good is a gift if you don't open it, and the way to open the Gift of the Book of Mormon is to pray to God with real intent. At the end he said that he would read and Pray about it. And that while he was reading that he felt good. I was so happy, and while we were talking after that he said that he believes that there is something inside him that leads him to know good and to know God's path. I knew what that was an invited him to read Moroni 7, and told him a little of the Light of Christ. Teach and invite to the needs of the individuals!
This week had some great moments, and the greatest moments have been when I acknowledge the gifts I have been given by God. As I have sought after them I have a greater love for them. As I am filled with Joy I know I have to share it and when I do I find rest from God. Jesus the Christ came and I am so grateful that He did. I have gained a deep understanding and love of what his birth meant for all of us. I say these things on the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
