The Great Adventure of "There and back again"! August 15, 2022

 Hello there!

I'm not sure why but I think this week was opposite from last week. What I mean by that is last week I said that the beginning of the week was good and the end of the week was hard. But this week I feel like the beginning on this week was hard and the end of the week was good. Hopefully there will be a nice full week coming up.

I'm also not sure what happened this week. It all seems to one day so we will see if I can remember or if I have to look back in my journal for hints.

More service! This week we had a two more opportunities do to service. One we were expecting to help someone move, but when we got there they said all we had to help out with was the mattress. That was good. Then we also helped out the neighbor of a member. We just went to go and help her clean up her garage. That was fun and next week we are going back to help with the other side. I have always loved doing service because I love to see when people can work together to have fun and do good work. Also love it because it gives me a chance to be a servant of God.

So on the hard days not much happened, we just did find a lot of people that wanted to talk to us which is normal, but when we did find someone it more special.

It was late one night, and we were knocking doors. We did find more people that only spoke Spanish so we had to use our handy dandy Google translator. Those went well and we sent them to the Sisters. It was getting around the time that we were about to head back to the apartment, but we knocked on a couple of doors. We get to this one door and we met this lady Laura. At first she didn't seem to interested and just wanted to send us on our way. She asked if we had a Pamphlet, and when it looked like we were just going to give it to her and go Elder Cameron starts to quickly and simply go through the restoration using the Pamphlet. We mention Prophets today and that seem to get her attention and interest. Then we talked for a while after that getting to know her. She is very friendly and bubbly person, and we are going back tomorrow so that will be fun.

Update, so we had amazing time when we first met Ivy a few weeks ago and we were going to meet with her again but she canceled and then told us that she did her own research and that she was good. That was sad because if people want to know more about the church all they have to do is ask us.

We also found some other people that we are going to meet with them again this week. And while we were teaching this high schooler at his door, his younger comes up to see what was going on. She was very quiet and sweet. All she said was her name(Gracie), and asked if we wanted water. As we are teaching her older brother about the restoration and the Book of Mormon, Gracie goes back in their apartment and comes back with a Book of Mormon in hand! I have no idea how it got there or how long it has been there, but I do know that it is there to bless them in their life if they will open it up and read. I look forward to teaching them more. And there we will see if we get Bible bashed because the older brother was being a little bit bashy, but he said we could come back and we told him how we aren't there to compare or argue. There is a light of Christ in everyone, and I want to be able to reach our to that light of Christ and help them receive the restored Gospel.

We had some wonderful opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful members in the Ward. Anytime we went over to their homes I could feel the Spirit, and it is always a warm peaceful feeling. Love hearing their stories and their testimonies. One of the members we visited was one of the friendliest wonderful person that I met, and he had a strong testimony filled with wonderful spiritual experiences including being around Prophets and Apostles. He called President Monson Tommy. While we were there I had a smile on my face the entire time. I was just filled with joy. There is a wonderful feeling when you share your experiences with others and then they can have a part of the same joy and spirit that you felt.

So I think I rediscovered my favorite general conference talk, or at least one of them. It is from Elder Uchtdorf, and it begins with,

I love this talk not only for all the references to the story of Bilbo Baggins, but because it reminds me of my own story. The story of my loved ones. There are so many wonderful lessons to learn from this talk as we go about our own great adventure. So why wait? I encourage you to read this talk and see what you can learn from the spirit.

I know that we all came to this earth in embark on our own great adventure. I know that it will not be easy, but I also know that we would not have to go through it alone. We have so many wonderful Brothers and Sisters to help us, we also have our strongest Eldest Brother to help us. Even Jesus Christ, the one you loved us so much that he endured all of our sorrow and sins. He want the best for all of us, and he wants all of us to be able to smile and tell our story of "There and back again". I testify that God loves us and wants all of His children to come home safely. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Pictures:
Brother Crowther and his nephew Wyatt. Love them a lot!
Yes both of them are Spider-man.
We helped them out with service this week.
Wyatt calls us his friends and loves it when we come by, and on Sundays he wants to go to Jesus's house. (Church)

Love Y'all, until next time!

Elder Robertson.
