Under the Weather

Hello Everyone,

I'll be completely honest with all of you. This week was hard. But before I get to why that is I'll tell you about to fun stuff. So we are going to start off on a high note then we will go a little bit lower. And then by the end we will end somewhere. Not too sure because I have not  written the end of this email yet.

At the beginning of the week we were meeting with this friend of a member in the ward. The member is a Korean grandpa and has been talking religion with his friend, and told him that if he would like to learn more he would have to talk to the missionaries. That was awesome! We knew that the grandpa doesn't really speak English, and we had no idea if his friend did. The daughter in-law of the grandpa that we thought was going to be there would be able to come and translate for us. What do you do in a situation like this? Well you call some one who can speak Korean and English, no problem! Except we didn't know anyone that could. We got the suggestion to call Sisters from Temple Square in Utah. We did and set everything up for our lesson. Good thing too because the friend spoke no English, and talked to a Sister Missionary over zoom the entire time. I didn't get a chance to say anything and didn't know what was being said. Not too sure how the lesson went but at the end he wanted and English copy of the Book of Mormon and asked if it was a present. We told him yes and he was grateful for it. It made me happy although I don't think he can read it because it was in English and not in Korean.

The day after that we had Zone Conference, and that was great! Learned a lot and had a good time, although I had a massive headache, which I normally don't get but I pressed on! President Harris is the best teaching us about the importance of ministering angels. To show us how this work we did what we like to call the GANM GAUNTLET! (GANM- Georgia. Atlanta. North. Mission) our brave mission president filled up a cup of water and said that he had to get to the other side of the gym without running or spilling the water. Easy right? Nope he gave us all a pillow or a yoga ball that we could throw at him to make him spill his water. I'm sure you can imagine what happened. We did it a couple times with some other people and every time the same thing happened.

We talked about how it is similar to people that are trying to come closer to Christ through the covenant path, but people  attack from all side where they can't make it to end with all of their water in their cup. Our mission President then enlisted the help of Missionaries to defend the person with the cup of water. And they made it to the other side with all the water. It was a great lesson to me how we have to defend the people that are learning of the Gospel by being their ministering angels. He also said that there are people on the other side that are waiting for them to come to Christ and to do their temple work.

So I suppose it is time for the hard part of my week. So I wasn't feeling great towards the end of the week. I was trying to do all that I could to keep on doing missionary work. Closer to the end of one of the days I called it and said that I needed to lay down. I did and I continued to try and rest but I was not feeling better. That was Friday night, and well it is Monday and I still don't feel great. I haven't been feeling well enough to be able to do missionaries work, and I hate that. It hurts when you can't go out and try and help people. And during that time I got real low having negative thoughts saying that I couldn't do this that I couldn't do anything. It was tough, but something I have learned is that when you are low God can lift you higher. And that is what He did for me. I turned to Gospel videos and General conference talks and while I watched I could feel God's love for me, His love for my family, for my friends. And when I felt that love I realized my own love for my family and for my friends increase. That was one thing that I felt I also felt God encouraging me.

I don't have all the answers. I don't know the exact path that I am to walk, but I do know that it is to follow Christ because he is the way. I know that this life is full a challenges but because of those challenges we are able rise and become who God meant for us to be. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

I love you all, thank you for all of you. I hope to be feeling better and to have experience that I can share with all of you. Until next time God be with you.

One picture this week, I don't think you guys would enjoy picture of me being sick, so here is a picture of a stream right next to our apartment.
