Transfer........and Transfer again! (June 6 2022)
Hello Everyone!
It was been a wonderful week, once again it was a Rollercoaster! This time I will start from the beginning that way it all makes sense, and so I don't have to explain myself over and over again, and making this email even longer than it has to be, so yes this will be a long one and I know that.
In the beginning there was news that change the week for ever. We heard that there was a emergency transfer! Elder Moss was sadly leaving me and I would stay in Ellijay. I miss him a lot, the power of the redheads will be missed. So early morning on Tuesday we drove down into another zone that was hop skip and a jump away from where we live. We drove down and said our goodbyes, and then hello to my new Companion. His name is Elder Bevans, and he is really tall and from Canada. He is a really cool guy, and we have gotten along well this past week. I'm going to miss him too.
You might be wondering what that means, or you may have figured out what I mean. We got the call last night that I would be leaving Ellijay and going to Hamilton Mill. And my new Companion will be Elder Cameron. So yeah it was been quite the week. I'm excited, and sad. All the mixed emotions. I'm going to miss Ellijay and the Branch. I have learn and grown so much. The members have been so good to me and I know that I have been blessed by God to be in this area with all my Companions. I'm grateful that I have been able to call this place home for the last four and a half months! I'm looking forward to my new experience and learning and growing there.
So with all that said and out of the way let's talk about what this week was! After I picked up Elder Bevans and we got talking to get to know each other, we knocked on a bunch of doors at an apartment complex. It was good; I feel that I'm getting better at it even though most people didn't want to talk any more. We headed over to meet Garrett for another lesson, and it was great as always. He's always knowledgeable and willing to learn more. I'll miss teaching him. Then we had a nice steak dinner and potato bar and salad and rolls, and yes we got spoiled that night. Then we headed to our next lesson, on the slowest road ever! Only could go 15 miles an hour and if I went even a little bit faster the car would yell at me because of the device in our car that makes us responsible drivers. We spend 10 minutes on this road when we find out that they were doing construction and we couldn't get by to our lesson. Sadly we weren't able to make it and had to cancel.
This week I like knowing the area so well, and helping Elder Bevans know the area, just in case I left, which is happening so hope I did a good enough of a good job. Something that I did think that I did well was making sure that everything was planned well during weekly planning. It was fun and feel that this week in Ellijay will be a good one! I'm excited for this area.
We had the chance for having another lesson with Matthew, and just had a good time studying the Book of Mormon, then we had the chance to go over to the Wittekinds for some service, and while we were doing our service it started to rain. To most people that doesn't sound fun but it was. It was quite refreshing and fun. Then we had dinner with them and I got a hair cut, and I'm a lot happier with this one. That was one of my favorite days. They have been so good to the missionaries and I'm grateful for all that they have done for me while I have been here. The next day we went over to another members home to have some food. While we were there the mom gave us some stuff animals that she made. I got an otter and an elephant.
Sadly this week we had a lot of lessons canceled on us which is sad but I have hope for the future that they will meet again with Missionaries.
I guess this email wasn't as long as I thought it was going to be, but it is also not quite over. I have already finished packing my bags and it feels so weird to think that this is my last time. So much has changed from the time from when I first got here. I have changed so much from when I first got here. A mission will change your life in so many ways. Not changing you into someone else, but helps you live up to your divine potential. A mission makes you become more of who you really are. A son or daughter of a living God that knows how much good we can do, and helps us get there. I know I'm still not there, but I know that I am closer than I was a couple months ago. I know that we can all live up to who we are truly meant to be. I know that there will be many struggles along the way, but that we can over come them because we have Jesus Christ helping us every step of the way. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
The hand made stuff animals as mentioned before.
The Georgia and Tennessee border.
Yes he really is tall, also us giving service to the Wittekinds.

A picture at another body of water, but this one moves.
Last picture with Elder Moss, I think as we were walking into the fancy Chick-fil-A
