T.T.T.T
Hello Everybody,
I know you are all wanting to know what T.T.T.T. stands for. It is not The O.W.C.A (Organization Without a Cool Acronym). T.T.T.T is the news that I received for this next week. It stands for Third Transfer Trio Training. So we got a call last night with our transfer news for what will be the start of my Third transfer in the field. They said that I would be will Elder Moss, who is also a redhead so we have the Ginger power. And on top of that we were going to be in a Trio with a new missionary who we will be teaching him how to do missionaries things. Hope that he will be a redhead too so we can be unstoppable.
With finding out all that news I received an answer from God. A few weeks ago we had our mission President interviews. Where he sees how we are doing and helps us with things we are going through. Towards the end he asked me a loaded question. " How do you feel about Training?" I felt excited but also extremely nervous because I don't feel that I am ready because I know I have a lot to learn and to improve. My mission president said he didn't know yet if I was going to be Training or not. But there was going to be a lot of new missionaries coming in and he need help. I said that I was ready and willing, but I also prayed a lot since then wondering if I would and if I would be ready. This is something that is so important to me and I don't want to mess it up. When I got the news and that I would have another missionary with me to help me train and also help me become a better missionary I knew that God had heard my prayers and given me an answer. That there is comfort and support but that I am going to be pushed this next transfer to become better and stronger.
This week was hard not gonna lie, but it was still good. We had a lot of lessons fall through which was hard but we still found God's hand in our lives through miracles.
The hard part of my day was when we went on an exchange. I went to another area that had a trio and we were having a lesson with somewhat I had met before. We met him while we were in a Chick-fil-A grabbing a couple weeks ago. When this man walked up to us knowing that we were missionaries and wanted to talk to us. The entire time he was friendly and wanted to talk more another time. This Wednesday was that time, and the entire time it felt like he was someone else. He was bashing us the entire time trying to prove us wrong and not listening to what we were saying. It was clear that he didn't want to talk all he was there to do was to bash us. When he prayed he asked that we would be "cleansed and free from all that we brain washed". It was wrong and it was sad that he would see what we were teaching and how it would bless his life. Despite all the bad there was still good. In the middle of us getting bashed there was a bunch of kids running up to us to say hello to the missionaries. The mom was someone from another ward and just wanted to say hello. That simple act brightened my day when I needed it the most. Afterwards we got to talk to the mother and brightened my day more. She said that the kids wanted to say hi because they looked up to missionaries. And they think of us as Super Heroes. Hearing her say that filled my soul. It gave me a reminder of what I am doing and the impact that it has on people's lives. It is something that I have to strive for everyday to be a representative of Jesus Christ.
On the day we had all of our lesson fall through we were sad, but then we were glad. Towards the end of the day we met this family that we had been trying to visit for months. We were able to meet them and see that they have been wanting to come back to church because they miss it but because of other things going on they haven't come for a while. We got to know them better and found out that they had a son that who was 10 and wanted to be Baptized, but because of the last 2 years of covid it hasn't happened. The craziest part about this is that we came at the perfect time. The father is never home at the time we stopped by, but that day he was. And as we talked to the Father the rest of the family showed up. The timing that God has is simply perfect.
After we met this family we headed down to help the young women load a truck for a yard sale. They needed the help help because there was a lot to do and not too many people came to help. I love packing things into a truck, it reminds of my days loading trucks for marching band. The next morning we were there at 7am to help them unload and set up for the yard sale. We were there for a while having a good time and helping them out. Many people came to the yard sale and a couple had wanted to know more about where our church was. Happy times, hope that they end up coming. There was also a lady there who was there to shop, but she got there pretty early. And we were not done setting up so this nice lady offered to help before she started shopping it was awesome. I love service.
This Sunday my companion and I gave talks about serving like the Savior. I love giving talks because it gives me a chance to study on a topic and learn more. And when I learn more I can teach more. Something that I learned is how Jesus Christ spent His entire life in service. Everything he did, who ever it was for was done out of love and to help someone. That is what service means to me. A positive action that is done for someone else even when it cost you something. Service is more than doing yard work, it is a way to show your love and God's love for one of your Bothers or Sisters. Be in the act of service by lifting up others.
This week has been crazy as always and I look forward to the new crazy that we will find in this coming week.
I know that there are blessings all around and when we look for them we will find them. There is no challenge in life that is too difficult, and that is because we all have been blessed with the service of Jesus Christ and He never fails. He always does what is needed and what will be for the benefit of us all. I know when we look for ways that others have served us we will see God's hand in our lives and when we look for ways to serve others we will Feel God's love and His joy, and I say these things in the name that has Served us all, in the name of Jesus Christ amen.
